Jerome Cloud, FSEGD

Design Principal

Jerome, a founding principal of CGD and recipient of the prestigious SEGD Fellow Award, has been at the forefront of design initiatives since the company’s establishment in 1986. While Jerome has retired, he will continue his association with Cloud Gehshan Design as a Senior Advisor.

Throughout his illustrious career, Jerome has championed integrating identity, research-based wayfinding and signage, interpretive storytelling, and digital media to craft exceptional and memorable experiences. Some of his most notable projects include the renovation of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, the expansion of the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, and the design of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial on the National Mall in Washington D.C., which was dedicated by former President Obama in 2014.

Over 37 years, Jerome and Virginia have transformed Cloud Gehshan Design into a nationally recognized experiential design firm known for its imaginative, innovative, and award-winning design solutions. Their pioneering work in placebranding, storytelling, and wayfinding strategies, with the unique support of environmental psychology, has left a lasting impact on numerous clients and public spaces.
