Healing environments take center stage

At the recent ASLA national conference Virginia Gehshan participated in the seminar “Healing Time: an Interdisciplinary Look at Nature in Hospitals.” Led by landscape architect Mark Klopfer of Klopfer Martin, the panel also included Roz Cama of Cama Design and Ellen Taylor from the Center for Healthcare Design. The team reviewed research confirming the therapeutic value of nature and discussed the role of design in creating an accessible, calming and restorative environment at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
