Now in its second edition, Chris Calori and David Vanden-Eynden’s Signage and Wayfinding Design book is a great resource for researching and creating effective signage and wayfinding.

CGA’s wayfinding signage for the Research Triangle Park, a corporate park for high-tech research and development in North Carolina, is featured in the book as an example of a “comprehensive signage and wayfinding system with sign types that relate to each other visually, to form a unified sign family across a  range of sign communication functions, sizes, and mounting methods.”
