Capital Cascades Trail – History & Culture Trail

Cascades Trail in Tallahassee, Florida, offers a recreational path connecting Cascades Park to Florida’s Gulf Coast. CG is excited to join Wood+Partners Landscape Architecture and Kimley-Horn in contributing artistic, historical, and cultural interpretation that celebrates the rich history of the African American community there.

Working with local historian and author Althemese Barnes, CG and interpretive writer Carol Perloff will lead the design of interpretive kiosks that will offer insight into everyday life in the neighborhood, highlight bustling African American-owned businesses, and feature prominent leaders of the civil rights movement.
