Fairmount Park Conservancy

The Conservancy is an incredible organization, supporting hundreds of city-owned parks and playgrounds with progressive planning and creative programming like dragon boating, yoga, bike tours and kayaking. Their new home in the middle of the 2000-acre Fairmount Park symbolizes their accessibility and the central role they play as champions of the Philly park system.

The Ohio House is listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places. It was built for the Centennial Exposition of 1876 and is the only state exhibit remaining. Its charming sandstone exterior is embellished with dates and signatures of the Ohio stone masons who built it. Exterior signage will also interpret the beautiful wildflower meadow being planned by the Conservancy as part of their “mows to meadows” initiative.
