A selective liberal arts university founded in 1889, Elon University has been ranked by the Princeton Review and New York Times as the nation’s most beautiful campus. Located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Elon’s 600-acres are divided into seven major sections, including a botanical garden, university forest, land preserve and a natural area for scientific research.
As part of “The Elon Commitment Strategic Plan” CG was selected to develop an integrated wayfinding and signage master plan that also included interior signage and a digital media messaging plan. This was also an opportunity for Elon to reinforce its brand identity as a prominent university across gateway, vehicular, pedestrian and identification signage. The goal for Elon’s signage master plan was to improve the visitor experience for prospective students, revitalize the outdated signage and develop a digital messaging display to inform and engage the Elon community.
